J's comment > bland

J's comment > fish was cooked perfectly, but the combination of the tomato and fish (a huge no-no) made the fish, well, fishy

J's comment > scone was good, but corn bread was meh, and the butter was bland

Promo dessert & chocolate - 2

Extra comments

Service was good, but I got an overall feeling that everything was very generic and slapped together (ie. the menu was aimed to please a large crowd and therefore didn't please anyone in particular). Although the technique of each dish was spot on, the dishes lacked 'soul'.

Especially having just tried Diva @ the Met yesterday, my experience at Yew dimmed even more than if my visit had stood on its own.
