Ichiran

December 12, 2013

Tonkotsu ramen w medium flavor strength, rich 'richness', regular garlic, thin green onions, sliced pork, half Ichiran's original red spicy sauce broth w firm noodles + seaweed - 2+

J's comment > Ichiran ONLY makes tonkotsu ramen (see customization menu below for how you get to make this YOUR ramen). I think the spicy sauce definitely gives it the extra something.

Tonkotsu ramen w medium flavor strength, light 'richness', regular garlic, thick green onions, sliced pork, no Ichiran's original red spicy sauce broth w firm noodles + egg- 2+

Tofu dessert - 2

J's comment > the texture reminded me a bit of fu-fu

Your seat

The machine that supposedly allows you to self serve but we got seated by a staff member because of the sheer number of people in line.

Extra Comment
A most interesting concept where you are expected to eat the ramen in solitude so as to 'eliminate all distractions'. We got in line at 9:45pm and had to wait for 45 mins. We asked a staff member what time is the best to come and she said 3 - 4pm, when the line is shorter. Note, shorter, not 'gone'. She said there is always a line at Ichiran, despite it being open 24/7.
