Lion's Den Cafe

March 10, 2014

Pancake - 2+

J's comment > lovely, almost, almost as good as Kingston's, fluffiness was on par, but could have used the slightest crispness on the edges; yes, Lion's Den serves all day breakfast

Jerk Chicken: Spicy Jamaican Style, slow baked w 18 different herbs & spices - 2

J's comment > texture and flavor of the chicken was fab, but would have loved more sauce; FYI you can adjust the spiciness level if you notify Ken ahead of time

Curry Goat & Lamb: Tender goat & lamb slow cooked Caribbean Style for 12 hrs - 2

J's comment > Junko affirmed that no sugar was added, but I think she added a special ingredient that made the curry sweet

Jamaican patty: Beef - 2

J's comment > the beef inside is a bit 'watery' but flavorful; crust a bit thick, but I think this overall package is the 'Jamaican style'?

Jamaican patty: Veggie - 2

J's comment > crust even thicker on this patty; veggies don't help w the score either

Rum cake w ice cream - 2

J's comment > not bad; served warm, but it reminded me of Bishop's and Siena's which I prefer
