Abode @ Blue Horizon Hotel

April 22, 2014

Short Rib Sandwich: Braised short ribs, caramelized golden onions, melted aged white cheddar, coleslaw, horseradish on ficelle roll - 2+

Side of house cut Kennebec fries - 2

J's comment > Best short rib sandwich I've ever had!! Cheese melded seamlessly w the beef which was oh-so-tender and so juicy; just the right amt of coleslaw (ie not too much) and the slightest tinge of horseradish to give the sandwich a kick to the next lever; roll very soft too, but just a tad too much bread to beef ratio; fries were sadly dry and borderline stale

Tagliatelle Carbonara with Gelderman Farms bacon, asparagus, onion, egg, hint of cream and hand shaved parmesan - 2

J's comment > not bad; noodles cooked well; complementing ingredients all fresh and tasty, esp the asparagus which was very tender; could have used a lot more sauce though; FYI this was a 'half' portion, technically 0.75 as indicated on the receipt.
