Afternoon Tea Special: Chocolate fondue sauce w 6 ice-cream truffles & 4 toppings - 2+

J's comments >

loved loved loved the chocolate sauce, molten liquid chocolate, just like Mink's Paul Dean White Trash Trainwreck, but thicker and and oh-so-dippable;

ice cream were really hard, perfect for dipping without melting, they all held up very well after drowning each nugget in the molten chocolate, but unfortunately the flavor of each ice-cream nugget disappeared under the chocolate flavor; I did sneak nibbles of each nugget though and they were not bad on their own either;

for toppings we had Skor bits, peanuts, honey graham, coconut flakes; we drowned the nuggets in the chocolate and then mushed the confection in each dip, but none of the toppings really held that well on top of the chocolate; fav for combo was the peanuts; neither the Skor bits nor honey graham were that flavorful; loved the coconut flakes texture, but again, dominant chocolate sauce overwhelmed all other flavors

Afternoon Tea - 2

Santa Fe salad in mini waffle basket - 2

Caprese Panini - 2

J's comment > not bad, but neither were very flavorful; the waffle basket was crisp but way too thin to balance out the other flavors and textures; panini was more bread than other ingredients

Blue cheese mushroom quiche - 2

Round roasted pepper sandwich - 2

J's comment > not bad, but nothing exceptional; quiche tart wasn't crisp, filling was meh; pepper really soft texture, more flavor than expected, but could have used other flavors than just 'pepper', cheese and beet unnoticeable

Matcha raisin scone - 2

Plain scone - 2

J's comment > scone dense, didn't really get either the matcha or raisin; honey butter did indeed have the honey flavor; FYI, excellent for dipping into the chocolate sauce as an alternative to bread ;)

Banana split in chocolate tart - 2

Napolitan macaron - 2

Matcha macaron - 2

Pineapple almond tartlet - 2

J's comment > interesting take on the banana split, it was one of the ice cream truffles from the menu on top of a caramelized banana, loved the crisp tart, but you really have to eat this in one bite or it will totally fall to pieces; macarons were slightly dense, but not bad; pineapple tartlet so-so, pineapple flavor subtle, tartlet dense

Fresh fruit iced tea: House Green - 2

J's comment > refreshing; tea did indeed taste a tad fruity

Mint chocolate latte - 2

J's comment > more milky & minty than chocolaty

Matcha latte - 2

J's comment > very milky; matcha flavor almost absent
