Steamed pork soup dumplings (shao long bao) - 3

J's comment > Dinesty's signature item; extremely well made, the wrapper was so thin that you can practically see through it, and the best part was it didn't tear until you wanted it to (with your teeth hopefully); loved the jus inside; only thing is the meat was just the slightest bit on the bland side, but the texture was very fluffy;

FYI to eat this, first place one in a bowl or your spoon, then carefully poke / nip a hole on the side, making sure that the jus is on the other end or else all the liquid squelches out, tip the dumpling so that all the just leaks out on the spoon; allow everything to cool down for a bit (unless you don't mind scalding your tongue), then pop the spoonful of jus and dumpling sans-jus into your mouth; enjoy!

Shredded pork w hoi sin sauce & pancakes - 2+

J's comment > very tender and juicy pork, just a tad salty though; pancakes I believe were made of the same stuff as the dumpling wrapper above as they were equally see-through-thin and just as indestructible as I crammed my pancake w the pork (I have no use for lil bits of filling in my pancake pocket)

Shrimp & pork wonton soup - 2

J's comment > not bad; soup base very light; wontons juicy and again, an excellent specimen variety of the wrappers detailed above

Stewed pork in brown sauce w tofu & egg - 1

J's comment > really bad... the meat was dry and the whole dish was salty; eggs were just terrible, beyond overcooked

Longan & glutinous rice sweet soup - 2

J's comment > not gonna lie here, when the server first put this down, I thought she made a mistake by giving me red bean soup; on closer inspection, the redness was actually from the red rice; I like red rice, but it was a tad overcooked - I like my red rice firmer; longan was of the dry-pack variety that gets re-hydrated in making sweet soup
