Hill Country Chicken

June 11, 2014

Biscuit - 2

Classic Southern fried and seasoned w signature shake fried chicken thigh - 2

Mama Els' skinless fried chicken drum w crunchy cracker crust - 2

J's comment > biscuit was like a Southern scone, very dry though; the 'signature shake' seasoning had a strong BBQ tone to it that didn't quite work; the 'crunchy cracker crust' wasn't crunchy in the least, as a matter of fact, neither was the thigh which had its skin left on

Coleslaw - 2

J's comment > slightly tangy, meh, avg

Whiskey Buttermilk pie cup: Classic Southern 'farmhouse' pie made w buttermilk, lemon, nutmeg and a splash of Maker's Mark - 2

J's comment > custard kinda dense, looks like the Chinese egg custard tart (eg. @ Golden Ocean's in Vancouver), but nothing at all like it otherwise...

Vanilla milkshake made w Blue Bell ice cream - 2

J's comment > not bad; not too sweet; mild vanilla flavor

Boylan Bottle Co.: Creme - 2

J's comment > not bad; essentially cream soda; I was so tempted to mix this w the milkshake above, but was held back :(
