French Toast - 2

J's comment > not bad; essentially bread drowned in butter (and that's the way I roll <-- hahaha.... :D); very soft, esp in the center

Ham sui gok: pork turnover - 2

J's comment > not bad; had the mochi like center w the exterior crispness that I'm fond of; could use a tad more pork filling though

FYI, I got this and the other two pastries the next morning to see if freshness could be a factor on the quality; good news is I don't think so, bad news is the quality wasn't outstanding either way

Pineapple bun w butter - 2

J's comment > not bad; not the best pineapple bun (too much dough to crust ratio); not even a hunk of butter could sway this rating towards a '3' or even a '2+'; the dough part of the bun was soft though

Apple tart - 2

J's comment > really don't see why people go crazy over this item; yes, the crust is crispy and the apples are soft, moist and well cooked on the inside (BTW, kudos to the skill in not having the moisture of the apples turn the tart soggy), but flavorwise, one-dimensonal

Baked BBQ bun - 2

J's comment > filling was tasty, more like a shredded BBQ pork nicely seasoned; bun was a tad stiff though, and wasn't even warmed up (not sure if I'm expecting too much here though...)

Egg tart - 2

J's comment > tart shell OK, not entirely crisp all the way, kinda tears away; egg filling passable

#342 Sizzling chicken hot pot - 2

J's comment > chicken borderline juicy but didn't quite taste like chicken, more like a semi-juicy meat texture; served hot and 'sizzling' as advertised

#111 Wor-Wonton soup - 2

J's comment > wontons were passable; the pleasant surprise though was the shrimp which was obviously frozen but was still not bad - now that's skill

Chicken Deluxe Bun (Bola Bola AKA Dai Bao 'Big Bun') - 2

J's comment > again, don't see why this is a signature item; bun was big alright, served cold though and not exactly the softest bun around; filling had a lot of stuff that was passable, but nothing remarkable

#203 Har Gao (shrimp dumplings) - 2

J's comment > barely passable; skin wrapper stuck to the container base for sure and almost ripped when taking a piece out; shrimp filling avg, not exactly flavorful

#39 Ice lemon tea - 2

J's comment > not bad; not too sweet nor sour, just a tad too much ice; arrived well mixed (I really dislike mixing my own ice lemon tea)
