#A05 Deep fried chicken wings - 2
J's comment > not bad; very juicy and skin crisped well; definitely better than the 'avg' deep fried chicken wings, but no particular outstanding aspect |
#A01 Roti Canai: Crispy Indian style pancake served w curry dipping sauce - 2
J's comment > not bad; roti soft but slightly greasy; curry good |
#D12 Curry Laksa w beef, yellow noodles, rice vermicelli, bean sprouts and fried tofu in coconut curry broth - 2
J's comment > beef tender; potatoes on the hard side; curry slightly spicy |
#D12 Curry Laksa w chicken, yellow noodles, rice vermicelli, bean sprouts and fried tofu in coconut curry broth - 2
J's comment > exactly the same as the laksa above but w chicken; meat could be more tender |
M06 Rendang Lamb: Pan fried lamb in lemongrass, curry, garlic, coconut milk gravy - 2
J's comment > lamb not as tender as hoped (needs more time on the stove in the stew), but not too gamey; curry definitely spicy |
M01 Kari Ayam: Dark meat chicken w potatoes stewed in red curry, lemongrass & coconut milk - 2
J's comment > meat not as tender as hoped (needs more time on the stove in the stew); curry good, slightly spicy |
#D18 Mee Rebus: Fresh yello noodles w hard boiled egg, fried tofu, shallot, dried small shrimps, bean sprouts, in spicy and slightly sweet curry gravy - 2
J's comment > despite the amt of gravy on the dish, flavor was quite pleasant, not too salty or overwhelming; noodles cooked OK |
#F01 Mango Fish: Deep fried fish topped w shredded mango, onions and sweet chili sauce - 2
J's comment > fish cooked OK; deep fry factor passable, skin slightly crispy, but was hard to tell underneath the sauce that made it half-way soggy |
#D23 K.L. Hokkian Mee stir fried w thick egg noodles, shrimp, squid, pork, fish cakes and vegetables in Malaysian dark soy sauce - 2
J's comment > slightly salty; noodles cooked OK |
#R02 Kuih Dadar: Pandan coconut crepe wrap w shredded coconut and palm sugar - 2
J's comment > tad too sweet; crepe not the soft doughy type I prefer, slightly hard; coconut shavings in the filling passable but surprisingly didn't have a very strong coconut flavor |
#R03 Kuih Talam: Glutinous steam cake w pandan and coconut cream layers - 2
J's comment > your avg Asian jelly dessert; not much pandan or coconut flavor |
#B11 Mango Smoothie - 2
J's comment > not bad; strong mango flavors; not sure what the chocolate chips are doing there though, totally doesn't go |
#B15 Rainbow Ice Kacang: Shaved ice w rose, pandan, milk, palm sugar, syrup, sweet corn, jelly and red bean - 2
J's comment > the corn definitely made this dish, ahem, intriguing, but wasn't necessarily bad; all the ingredients listed melded OK together, and you can actually taste the individual ingredients; would have preferred this in a drink and not on a bed of ice, then again I'm not a slushy fan |
#B12 Milo Dinosaur - 2
J's comment > a cold Milo (chocolate and malt powder) drink w a blob of ice cream; Milo flavor could be stronger; ice cream didn't belong |
