Shio Ramen: Taishoken's pork & chicken broth seasoned w salt (w pork belly cha shu) - 2+
J's comment > broth slightly richer than the avg ramen broths from other ramen joints in Vancouver (but not heavy!); not too salty; FYI you can choose the type of cha shu you want, either pork shoulder (leaner cut) or pork belly (fattier); ramen noodles cooked perfectly al dente |

Special Shoyu Ramen: Taishoken's pork & chicken broth seasoned w soy sauce, w aji-tama (egg), extra meat and extra seaweed - 2
J's comment > not bad; broth just as rich as the Shio above, but tad saltier, hence I'm not as fond of this version of the broth; the egg was incredibly soft and had the right molten egg yolk consistency that ramen eggs should have; pork shoulder was tender but a tad lean for my tastes. |

Extra Comment
As you can see from the menu, the tsukemen isn't available yet, but I'll definitely be revisiting to try that version of noodles out.
