Daily special: Foie gras & shredded chicken terrine - 2

J's comment > not bad; creamy foie w strong foie flavor, not too heavy; loved the lil bit of raspberry (?) jelly on top; didn't get the chicken at all though; bread OK, but the bread itself was good enough to eat on its own and actually detracted from the foie when slathered on top;

FYI, this is a half portion on the house - the server informed us of the special when we sat down (we got the very first seating @ 5:30) and announced that it was sold out when she came back 5 mins later to take our order, but as there was still a wee bit left, the staff decided to just give it to us since we wanted to order it; lesson here is to get the earlier seating if you can, things sell out quick

Natural angus rib eye, brown butter cherries, beets, mustard greens - 2

J's comment > not bad; lots of gristle and fat (just the way I like my steaks); lovely rib eye flavor, not heavy surprisingly; sauce just the slightest bit salty but either with or without, rib eye still kinda one dimensional; cherries still slightly crisp; beets OK

Burrata, pickled vegetables, fermented pea juice - 2

J's comment > not bad; burrata very soft but not creamy enough, flavor even less present w the pickled vegetables' flavor overpowering the subtle burrata; didn't get the pea flavor in the pea juice, the fermented juice tasted just like pickled juice

Octopus, santa ciara plums, plum essence, radishes, shiso - 2

J's comment > octopus borderline overcooked, chewy, slightly fishy; plums ripe; Diva's octopus better; FYI, we advised the staff and they were nice and took it off our bill

Complimentary financier - 2

J's comment > kinda like a light butter pound cake
