Chu-toro nigiri - 2+

J's comment > brilliant, buttery yet not heavy; perfect balance of fish and rice; not a single tendon to be found, excellent cut!

Tamago nigiri - 2+

J's comment > egg slightly warmed up as usual w the fluffiest egg texture; excellent as always

Hamachi nigiri - 2+

J's comment > caught just one tendon in the hamachi but freshness of the fish and overall cut more than made up for this

Saba nigiri - 2+

J's comment > juicy and not too fishy as is this type of fish is wont to be

Waru nigiri - 2+

J's comment > soft and sponge-like texture; you can totally imagine the curls of waves washing up on the shore as you savour this piece

Akami nigiri - 2

J's comment > not bad; not as fatty (obviously) as the chu-toro, but nonetheless just as buttery (that was a nice surprise)

Wagyu nigiri - 2

J's comment > not bad; slightly disappointed though, the wagyu cut was a tad thick and wasn't as 'melt in your mouth' as I expected; flavor of wagyu slightly muted too

Avocado maki - 2

J's comment > not bad; got this to act as a palate cleanser

Lobster sashimi - 2

J's comment > not bad; incredibly fresh lobster meat, oh-so-crisp; flavor of lobster not as strong as when cooked though; for once, the roe paired wonderfully w the sashimi and wasn't just there to decorate - add a touch of soy sauce for maximum flavor - this enhances the lobster flavor, but nevertheless not very strong

Lobster miso soup - 2

J's comment > lobster flavor completely absent; slight miso flavor; FYI, you have the option of having lobster tempura w the claws instead of having the soup

Matcha Tiramisu w black sesame ice cream - 2

J's comment > not bad; creamy tiramisu w just a touch of matcha flavor, but there was a certain je ne sais quoi that was slightly lacking, bringing it from a solid 3 from January's visit to just a 2 this visit :(; black sesame ice cream was also creamy and had strong black sesame notes, not too sweet

Starlight Tea: Green tea & Oolong tea naturally flavored w raspberry, red currant & strawberry - 2

J's comment > not bad; surprisingly, the green tea flavor was stronger than the oolong and fruit flavors
