Ramen Koika

July 3, 2014

Shio Gentleman Ramen ((白) 塩紳士ラーメン): Bamboo shoot, roasted seaweed, cha-shu, bean sprouts, green onion, black tree fungus + butter - 2

J's comment > not bad; very garlicky broth, rich yet not heavy - very well done on this point; butter added creaminess to the broth, but was unsalted; cha-shu on the lean side, almost dry sadly; bamboo shoot didn't taste bad for once (it never worked for me in ramen), but @ Ramen Koika it was OK; noodles cooked well, but along w the other ingredients, just failed to really jump out; the real star was the broth; FYI, this is part of the 'soft-opening' promo until (?), whereby all ramen is $6 until sold out everyday
