Hainanese Chicken - 2
J's comment > chicken tender but a tad dry, could be more flavorful; definitely pales in comparison to Mamalee's |
Sizzling Plate Combo, Signature Mixed Grill: Centre cut pork chop, lamb chop, italian sausage, sole cutlet, rib eye steak & fried egg - 2
J's comment > all protein were tender, esp the sole cutlet which was pretty well done as a bread battered deep fried fish; pork was a tad dry though; lamb chop (below) and the sausage were the better of the bunch; the beef was OK until I ate some more after the food had cooled down a bit, at which point the texture of the beef was just plain mushy and gross - the '2' here is really for the rest of the stuff on the plate, the beef was a clear '1' from this experience |
The lamb chop from the above combo; it got left out, but was delivered hot so all was forgiven |
Mashed potatoes (also came w the Sizzling Plate Combo) - 2
Mushroom sauce for the Sizzling Plate Combo - 2
J's comment > mash potatoes avg, tad dense, definitely not much butter, tasted better w the mushroom sauce even though the sauce was destined for the actual sizzling plate |
Dinner roll (also came w the Sizzling Plate Combo) - 2
J's comment > roll was soft, but could use another pat of butter |
Daily soup (came w the hainanese chicken combo) - 2
J's comment > very light-tasting |
Russian borsht (also came w the Sizzling Plate Combo) - 2
J's comment > your avg Chinese-style Russian borscht, more like a light tomato soup than a borscht soup |
Coconut milk tea, less sweet, w half pearls (also came w the Sizzling Plate Combo) - 2
J's comment > got this upgraded from the complimentary tea/coffee that comes w the combo; strong coconut flavors; pearls OK; quite creamy, I think the cafe used coconut milk |
Ovaltine (came w the hainanese chicken combo) - 2
J's comment > very light ovaltine flavor |
