Salted Brick

August 30, 2014

Tomato & feta salad - 2+

J's comment > incredibly fresh and ripe tomatoes, so tasty that I didn't need to be forced to eat it, esp the little round golden tomatoes, now those were just plain addictive; feta crumble added just the right touch of 'pow' to this dish

Mussels, beer, honey, thyme - 2

J's comment > not bad; very light yet distinctively 'beer-ish' broth; mussels very fresh and plump

Skatewing, beans, bacon, tomato - 2

J's comment > not bad; firm fresh fish (haha, try saying that super fast 5 times); another dish w the little round golden tomatoes but these were cooked (I prefer these raw); didn' really get the bacon or beans though

Blue cheese stuffed date - 2

J's comment > decent balance of date and cheese, but wasn't exactly mind-blowing

Hand crafted charcuterie - 2

J's comment > all the meats were actually much less saltier than other charcuterie boards I've tried in the past, almost borderline bland I'd say; the smoked pork fat (bottom left) in particular had trace smoky flavor but the fattiness wasn't heavy
