Linguine con Vongole: Clams steamed in white wine, chilies, garlic & olive oil - 2

J's commnet > not bad; pasta al dente; sauce not creamy, but in spite of this, very flavorful, loved the dash of lemon that worked this time (but absolutely failed in Belgard Kitchen's risotto); huge clams, very fresh

Mushroom & Truffle Tagliatelle w madeira cream, charred baby leeks, truffle pecorino - 2

J's comment > not bad; strong truffle flavor more on the nose than on the tongue; not heavy despite the cheese and cream; could have used just a tad more mushroom

Duck confit ravioli w bruleed orange, brown butter - 2

J's comment > not bad; ravioli well cooked, soft in the center; didn't get much duck though, either in portion or in flavor

Cavatelli Bolognese w pulled beef, roasted garlic, tomato, asiago - 2

J's comment > not bad; pasta al dente; decent amt of bolognese; good pairing of the sauce w this type of pasta - the long noodle pasta versions usually result in all the meat sinking to the bottom of the dish whilst you nibble on just the pasta at the top

Polenta fries w aioli - 2

J's comment > not bad; very lightly crisped edges but soft center; slightly dry without the aioli, but well done nonetheless; aioli was a good pairing

"Brasato al Siena" w chianti-braised beef, roasted cauliflower, potato parsnip puree - 2

J's comment > not bad; extremely tender and juicy beef, especially since it's braised (haven't had the best experience w braised beef, but I keep trying); complements OK

Grilled lamb sirloin w rosemary & mint potato torta, orange gastrique - 2

J's comment > tender lamb, well cooked, but flavors avg; the potato torta actually threatened to steal the show, more like a potato gratin but thinly sliced, creamy, but not heavy (torta is hiding underneath / behind the lamb)

Grilled flat iron steak w cauliflower puree, thyme, roasted fingerlings, basil & grape tomato salad - 2

J's comment > steak cooked well, flavors avg

Bruschetta w wine cured chorizo, red onion, mascarpone, pea greens, balsamic vinaigrette - 2

J's comment > strong chorizo flavor and decent portion, but was still 'just' bits of chorizo on grilled toast; all the complements didn't add that much to this dish

Burrata w sweet tomato jam, caperberries, extra virgin olive oil, grilled focaccia - 1

J's comment > what a sad affair... my fav burrata to end up at the bottom of the list... burrata was much firmer than what is expected, the cheese actually had a tough rind and was slightly sour

Warm spiced fig cake w frangelico toffee sauce - 2

J's comment > cake was dense; trace fig flavor, but very strong toffee / caramel notes; sadly nowhere near as enticing as the one I tried during the 2014 DOV, just 9 mths ago

BC peach panna cotta w peach compote, puff pastry twist - 1

J's comment > absolutely miserable; the panna cotta had not set all all, was just cream, and not very flavorful at that either; peach flavors were OK, but nothing extraordinary; we sent this back and had it taken off our bill

Classic Bellini w peach juice, Prosecco - 2

J's comment > peach flavor not too strong, more of a fizzy water w a dash of Prosecco

Coretto Freddo: Brandy, sugar, espresso, shaken - 2

J's comment > kinda like an iced coffee espresso, not too sweet; tasted exactly as described, notes of brandy w the bitterness of espresso

Grappa Negroni w cinzano, campari, grappa di falanghina - 1

J's comment > really bitter; not a fan

Chocolate Decadence: Devil’s food cake w layers of bitter-sweet chocolate mousse covered in dark ganache, garnished w chocolate truffles - 2

J's comment > cake was from Trafiq; dense and chocolaty, slightly heavy but not rich; 'truffles' on top were kind of like a mealy, even denser chocolate portion of the cake;

Siena was nice about the cake - no cake cutting fee if you cut the cake yourself, plates and forks provided (and candles too!)
