Blackbird Public House & Oyster Bar

October 27, 2014

Charred beef short ribs w soy marinade, pickled vegetables - 2

J's comment > beef cooked well, cut was decently marbled, not too chewy nor stringy like the stuff you get more often that not @ Korean BBQ joints; too salty though, perhaps in anticipation of eating eat w the pickled vegetables, but that's still no excuse

Chicken liver mousse w port jelly, onion gastrique, black pepper, toast - 2

J's comment > loved the crispness of the toasts; jelly and the mousse melded well, very spreadable

Blackbird burger: Daily ground beef brisket & chuck, aged white cheddar, iceberg lettuce, vine ripened tomato, roasted tomato mayo, brioche bun - 1

J's comment > too much bun to beef ratio; patty also slightly raw and definitely much too salty and peppery; fries were OK but even then these could be crisper
