Lanna Thai

#20 Gaeng Hang Lay: Northern Thai style Hang Lay curry cooked w ginger, beef - 2

J's comment > slightly spicy; the oil on top was a slight turnoff; beef firm and lean as expected; ginger surprisingly not too strong, the slivers of ginger seen didn't taste like ginger at all actually, closer to bamboo shoots; definitely not your usual Thai green curry

#14 Tham Kanoon (Jackfruit Salad): Cooked ground pork mixed w jackfruit and Northern Thai herbs & spices - 2

J's comment > didn't see or taste the jackfruit at all; this was essentially stir fried ground pork; crisp pork rind puffs were passable

#7 Moo Ping: Grilled marinated pork w Thai herbs & spices, served w homemade sauce - 2

J's comment > pork was lean, tough and slightly chewy; the saving grace was the sauce, which was mildly intriguing and different, similar to a tamarind sauce but not quite

#37 Thai red-brown rice - 2

J's comment > rice too soft for the red-brown variety, losing the inherent nuttiness that makes this rice what it's supposed to be
