Medina Cafe

October 19, 2014

Fricassée: 2 fried eggs, braised short ribs, roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, applewood smoked cheddar w grilled focaccia - 2

J's comment > not bad; better than last time - all the pieces of the short ribs were marbly and juicy (some were dry last time), jus just as flavorful as last visit's, melty cheese at the bottom just as tasty, eggs cooked well and focaccia not rock hard as last time's

Paella: 1 fried egg, orzo, chorizo, summer vegetables, Grana Padano, avocado & tomato salad - 2

J's comment > not bad; loved the texture of the orzo, definitely made this paella different; not too spicy but very flavorful w the chorizo; avocado was borderline ripe, could be even softer and would have liked more in quantity; didn't get much of the Grana Padano though

Lavender Latte - 2

J's comment > not bad; strong lavender flavor that blended in well w the coffee which wasn't too bitter in itself

Extra Comment
Was the food good? Sure, but not as extraordinary as the hype suggests, and definitely not worth waiting more than 10 mins for, and that's only if you really need your Medina fix.
