Taishoken Ramen / 大勝軒

October 17, 2014

Shio Tonkotsu: 2 slices of pork chashu, ajitama (soft boiled egg), negi (scallion), nori (dried seaweed), naruto (fishcake) - 2

J's comment > broth not as rich nor flavorful as previous visits, dare I say, actually a tad bland; if you mix this broth w the spicy one below though, it's incredible; could have used more chashu, either in thickness of the slices or in quantity (not sure if this was because we got the $5 specials or if it's going to be so small going forward; same great egg-y flavored noodles w the right amt of bounce; supporting cast OK

Spicy Tsukemen: 2 slices of pork chashu, ajitama (soft boiled egg), negi (scallion), nori (dried seaweed), naruto (fishcake) - 2

J's comment > extremely spicy broth; same comments on the other items as above
