Crumbs & Churros

November 17, 2014

Raspberry Swirl - 2+

Red Velvet: Red velvet cake w rich cream cheese frosting, topped w red velvet crumbs and edged w white sprinkles - 2

Grasshopper Classic: Rich chocolate cake filled w chocolate fudge and topped w mint flavored cream cheese frosting w chocolate cake crumbs, edged in mini chocolate chips w a vanilla buttercream rosette - 2

J's comment > First off all, HUGE thanks and hugs to A. for driving all the way across town to get these for us whilst we were on the WB tour; Thank you thank you thank you!

The raspberry swirl was the best, both A. and I agreed on this, it was the moistest and had the perfect ratio of frosting to cupcake base; if the Sprinkles @ Beverly Hills are anything to go by, it's no wonder Crumbs is the local favorite based on this cupcake; the other two were unfortunately dry and avg though, although the advertised flavors were still present

FYI, it appears there is only the one Crumbs in LAX now on Larchmont Blvd

Random churros on the streets of LAX

J's comment > dying for some 'more' authentic Mexican churros, I grabbed these off the street for $1!! slightly stiff but soft enough; not too sweet either; would go really well w ice cream as they were slightly dry
