Fish House

November 23, 2014

Afternoon tea - 2

House made currant scone - 2

J's comment > not bad; very light and fluffy scone w a crisp exterior, crumbly, just the way I like it, but could be warmer though; white chocolate cream wasn't too sweet, but I still prefer devonshire cream

Sandwiches - 2

Mini Croissant: Oregon pink shrimp, pea shoots, dill aioli
Mini Bagel: Smoked salmon, fried capers, herb & garlic cream cheese
Herb Focaccia: Roasted vegetables, goat cheese
Challah Slider: Grilled chicken, fig compote, brie

J's comment > I appreciated the different variety of breads offered, from the soft croissant to the hard bagel; way too much bread to fillings ratio though unfortunately, but the flavors of the ingredients were OK

Sweets - 2

Praline tart
Coconut lemon tart
Caramel chocolate cup

J's comment > not bad; loved the crispness of the tart shells; excellent balance of the fillings and the shells; strong praline and lemon flavors, respectively; caramel chocolate cup was exactly that: strong caramel and chocolate

TWG Grand Wedding Tea: Black tea blended w sunflowers & exotic fruits - 2

J's comment > a light black tea, not too fruity actually; FYI, I usually choose stronger flavored teas so that the teas have a chance of showing up on the palate after eating anything from the afternoon tea tier

Jasmine Queen Tea: Jasmine flowers, green tea - 2

J's comment > much too light even on its own; after taking a bit of anything on the afternoon tea tier, it might as well have been drinking warm water

Extra Comments
We had a Living Social for this which is unfortunately over now, but there's still a Living Social for their 3 course dinner available even today.

For free parking after 6pm, head down Park Lane and make a left onto Lagoon Drive, following the path until you reach the backlot of the restaurant. Otherwise, you're paying for parking if you drive.
