Nantucket Cape Scallops: Black trumpet mushrooms & broccoli rabe - 2+
J's comment > loved the sauce! Creamy, not too heavy nor salty; scallops cooked beautifully too |
 |
Lobster Risotto w roasted red pepper & tarragon - 2
J's comment > lobster good; risotto al dente as advised by the server, flavor in risotto OK but too much in quantity! Esp in relation to the amt of lobster provided |
 |
Roasted Colorado Lamb w artichoke, farro, crab apple mostarda - 2
J's comment > your avg lamb, decently cooked loin @ med-rare; lamb belly (yes, this was a lamb duo) cooked to med-well done though, as intended by the chef (we asked), not the temp we would go for personally; avg flavors |
 |
Escargot pistachio & brioche crumble - 2
J's comment > interesting take on escargot, had potential but custard slightly too firm; didn't get the earthiness of the escargot as preferred; definitely no pistachio flavor |
 |
Liberty Farms duck breast w gnocchi, shiitake mushrooms, tomato, oregano, ricotta salata - 2
J's comment > duck passable, actual meat cooked well but skin tough and chewy, not crisp at all (personal pet peeve); flavors boring; gnocchi OK, soft, but still missing a certain je ne sais quoi |
 |
Dover Sole "fish and chip style" w tartar sauce - 2
J's comment > fish slightly overcooked; the crisp exterior had potential but was slightly soft; too much tartar sauce, esp the presentation of same encourages drowning the fish |
 |
Burrata w charred warm radicchio, pine nuts, garlic toast - 2
J's comment > passable texture, slightly creamy, but unfortunately slightly soured (as in gone bad) too; accompanying bread was too tough and had no business being on the same plate |
 |
Char-grilled octopus w potato, chickpeas, toasted marcona almonds - 1
J's comment > overcooked, trace smelly, didn't get much of the char flavor, was expecting something along the lines of Stocking Frame's roasted romaine last night; simply put - plain. please pass |
 |
Pineapple cake w coconut ice cream - 2
J's comment > moist w decent amt of pineapple flavor; good and tasty but expected something even better from one of Gordon Ramsay's namesake restaurants |
 |
Meyer lemon custard w huckleberry coulis & burnt meringue - 2
J's comment > another well done dessert; egg white flavor on meringue not too strong, texture whipped perfectly; lemon curd had a good balance of sweet and tartness; tart shell passable but could be even flakier; FYI, the description on the menu doesn't indicate that this was a tart though |
Menu
Really discreet entrance after you enter the hotel
Extra Comment
All in all, an extreme disappointment considering the reputation behind this particular restaurant. Hmm... Chef Ramsay, dare I suggest you revisit your restaurants more often to ensure quality control?
