Kang Ho dong Baekjeong

November 14, 2014

Place setting - definitely different from the YVR options

Prime boneless short rib - 2

J's comment > good marble, slightly tough and chewy though; beef flavor not very strong, needs a touch of salt too; definitely needs to be drowned in the sauce provided; half the portion  provided was cooked at once

What $33 gets you

Premium pork jowl - 2

J's comment > crisp, not too fatty, but like the beef, needs a touch of salt; FYI, notice the different grill base? Our server changed it for us

Beef tongue - 2

J's comment > woefully chewy as it was overcooked by our server, the last batch we did by ourselves was passable (we cooked each side for 5 secs each only, still a bit pink and even then it was still tough)

The kitchen / meat slicing station

How to eat instructions
FYI the greens were avg, sauces OK

Extra Comment
The servers cook the meat for you but you can request to cook same yourself. FYI, the yellow stuff on the side is raw egg which cooks over time as the grill heats up. Didn't do anything for me, but was interesting as you don't see this format in YVR
