Deep fried black cod w soy sauce - 2+

J's comment > sooo flavorful and juicy! A touch overdone, but very crisp batter despite the amt of sauce which wasn't too salty either despite the color; also offered @ Bamboo Grove but Bamboo Grove does it a smidgen better

Deep fried crispy tofu - 2

J's comment > not bad; very thin but crisp batter; tofu soft on the inside; tad too much tofu to batter ratio, would have liked more crispness

Har Gao: Steamed prawn dumpling - 2

J's comment > not bad; fresh, juicy and fragrant prawn filling; wrapper, as before, slightly thicker than preferred but non-sticky and didn't tear

Siu Mai: Steamed prawn and pork dumpling topped w flying fish roe - 2

J's comment > siu mai juicy but flavors a tad subtler than I prefer

Crispy rice w assorted seafood (Wo ba) - 2

J's comment > very crisp rice, remained slightly crisp even after mixing w the seafood; seafood fresh, nothing smelly

Wu Gok: Taro & mince pork - 2

J's comment > soft taro w decent amt of pork filling; exterior crisp but would have liked more crispiness

Deep fried prawn wonton - 2

J's comment > I suspect the prawn filling was from the same batch as the one in the har gao above, nonetheless, very fresh and juicy; wonton exterior crispness factor acceptable

Pea tips in supreme broth - 2

J's comment > tender veggies, not stringy; your avg supreme broth (FYI, 'supreme broth' is actually just chicken broth)

BBQ puff pastry - 2

J's comment > slightly over baked as you can see from the color and the flavor suggested as much - another minute and it would have been borderline burnt; BBQ pork on the inside OK, not too dry

Deep fried chicken joint cartilage - 2

J's comment > crisp cartilage w decent amt of meat on same; oil tasted 'old' though, as per last visit's

Sauteed pork jowl w pineapple & pickled ginger - 2

J's comment > crisp pork jowl, surprisingly not too over sauced, good balance of sweet and sour flavors

Honey & Ginger beef - 2

J's comment > good flavor on the beef, could have used a touch more honey and less ginger, it was actually a smidgen saltier than expected; beef was also tough

Canned baby abalone & chicken congee - 2

J's comment > chicken tender and abalone (had about 5 pieces) flavorful on their own, but congee itself was absolutely plain - I suspect it's just plain congee + the chicken and abalone, and was not actually cooked w the two key ingredients
