La Taqueria on Cambie

November 25, 2014

Carnitas taco: Pork confit w pickled red onion - 2+

Al Pastor taco: pork marinated in achiote chili and pineapple - 2+

J's comment > Carnitas addictive as always, so glad that this has been consistent ever since the first visit; very generous amt of meat, juicy w just the right amt of pickling to break through the denseness of the confit;

Al Pastor another long-time favorite, loved the slight punch of chili although it wasn't too spicy actually; pineapple sweet too!

Pescado: Zarandeado fish w chipotle mayo, radish and pepitas - 2

Rajas Con Crema: Roasted poblano peppers w creamed corn, sour cream & mexican cheese - 2

J's comment > not bad; fish was not fishy at all, but there was an element of wateriness to this taco that I wasn't sure where it was coming from; flavors were pretty OK; the veggie option came highly recommended by the staff and whilst decent (slightly more of the sour cream flavor than anything else listed) was still not in the same league as the Carnitas and Al Pastor FYI, yes, the Carnitas was so good I had to get one more 'for the road'

Horchata - 2

J's comment > not bad; very light, milky w lots of cinnamon; FYI, horchatas are on the house every Tuesday if you mention #horchatatuesday when ordering
