Devil's Elbow Ale Smoke House

December 11, 2014

Cato the Elder Share Plate for 2: Choose any 3 meats from meat plates

Beef Ribs: Slow smoked short ribs - 2+

Pork Back Ribs: Slow smoked and grilled - 2

Beef brisket - 2

J's comment > incredibly flavorful and marbly beef ribs - the meat actually arrived on top of the bone, ready to be sliced; pork ribs were decent, but were in the form of meat on bones w lots of gnaw action; beef brisket sadly not as wonderful as the one during lunch (not sure if it's the same), a smidgen dry but flavorful
baked beans definitely not your Heinz variety, much tastier; coleslaw was your avg slaw though

Sausage Plate: Beef & lamb sausage, smoked & grilled - 2+

J's comment > very flavorful and juicy lamb sausage; beef good too, but lamb was the more tender of the two w a stronger flavor

Hemp fudge brownie w vanilla ice cream & fudge sauce - 2+

J's comment > didn't get the fudge as you can('t) see, but the brownie was pretty darn good! Dense but w a bit of crunch (nuts?) in it. Yum!

Deep fried cheesecake: Pumpkin cheesecake, phyllo pastry - 2

J's comment > not bad; just as yummy as last visit's; good crisp on the phyllo; excellent balanced flavor of both the pumpkin and the cheese (ricotta I believe); sadly, the ice cream as you can see was already melting into a puddle upon arrival at our table

Extra Comment
It was fun to see the old Chambar in a different light. Definitely the best BBQ joint in town on all items.
