Chili Nachos: Fresh corn chips, Heirloom chili, aged white cheddar served w guacamole, pico de gallo and all the usual toppings - 2+

J's comment > very thin and crisp corn chips, down to the last chip at the bottom; chili OK, but the magic was in the guacamole; would have been better w a touch more cheese too

Butternut Tacos: Two tacos w gluten-free butternut squash tempura, house made taco mix and arugula chimichurri - 2

J's comment > not bad; your avg taco base and fillings, highlight was definitely the butternut squash nuggets which were slightly crisp yet soft in the center, although the batter was most definitely not your usual Japanese tempura

Avocado Frites: Crispy avocado slices w a spiced cornmeal rub, served w house ketchup - 2

J's comment > not bad; avocado ripe; neither spicy nor crispy though, the cornmeal had a slightly gritty texture as expected but definitely not 'crispy'

Pumpkin Pesto Mac & Cheese: Elbow macaroni, mushrooms and caramelized onions in a classic bechemel and pumpkin seed pesto topped w goat cheese and a lemon-basil crust - 2

J's comment > decent mac, needs more cheese; pesto and lemon-basil crust present but not particularly outstanding

Mexi Wrap: House made crispy veggie strips, chipotle aioli, w banana peppers, guacamole and pico de gallo wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla - 2

J's comment > wrap slightly dry but chock full of veggies; needs more guacamole and aioli

Heirloom Curry: Speckled heirloom beans, chickpeas and spinach in a spicy tomato curry - 2

J's comment > everything listed present yet didn't quite meld as well as it could; curry wasn't spicy either

Kale Caesar: Mixed kale and romaine lettuce, house-made cornbread croutons, signature beet bacon and cashew parmesan, served w house-made vegan Caesar dressing - 2

J's comment > salty; veggie fronds could be cut into even smaller pieces; beet bacon intriguing, but still definitely beet, not going to mistake this for bacon; croutons slightly hard; sorry, Bitter's Kale Caesar still the best

Dips Plate: Hummus and an olive tapenade served w grilled herbed naan and crudite - 2

J's comment > soft naan but slightly doughy; hummus dry; olive tapenade passable

The Whole Enchilada: Seasonal vegetables, forbidden black rice, guacamole and chipotle aioli and baked in Heirloom chili and aged white cheddar - 2

J's comment > too much beans and rice to everything else; needs more sauce

Green Curry: Rice noodles in a coconut curry sauce w seared tofu and sautéed vegetables - 2

J's comment > not spicy at all, essentially just colored coconut milk w some slightly overcooked rice noodles

Honey Lemon and Vanilla Cloud Cake served on a toasted hazelnut crust w a lemon-poppyseed sauce, candied ginger and hazelnuts - 2+

J's comment > texture similar to a semi-freddo but creamier; very light; more vanilla than either honey and lemon, but all three were present; loved the crisp crust crunch at the bottom; ginger and hazelnuts a nice touch but unnecessary

Aloe Blossom: Aloe vera, orange juice, house made grenadine - 2+

J's comment > very fresh OJ; perfect touch of sweetness; FYI, ask for no ice so that the drink doesn't dilute over time, it really is perfect as served

Coco-Pom: Coconut water, Pomegranate - 2

J's comment > not bad; strong coconut flavor, w decent amt of pomegranate flavor

E3 Lemonade: e3live blue green algae, fresh lemon juice, honey, sparkling water - 2

J's comment > very sour! needs a lot more honey

Mill Street Organic Lager, Ontario - 2

J's comment > easy to drink beer, not too hoppy

B.C Royale: Okanagan Blackcurrant liquor, Prosecco - 2

J's comment > slightly sour, not as sweet or bubbly as expected
