Diva at the Met

January 27, 2015

#22 "ADULTS ONLY": A mixture of Barry Callebaut cocoa and Valrhona chocolate with a flat chocolate lid and a chocolate Bailey's ball. After about 30 seconds, the lid melts and the entire lid falls into the hot chocolate. Guests stir the mixture together to enjoy an 'Adults Only' hot chocolate. Served w a Matcha Green Tea Cake. - 2

J's comment > not bad; very chocolaty but that's because the top melted before we got a good pic so we asked for another top (thanks to the bartender!), so in essence our hot chocolate had two chocolate discs mixed in; didn't get the Bailey's at all, though A., a huge fan of Bailey's said she got a trace amt of it; tea cake OK, soft and moist, a nice addition but unnecessary; Available until Feb 14

Melting.... melting...

... melted

#21 "SIZZLING SPICE": Spice and herbal blend of chili pepper, star anise, cardamon, orange zest, cloves, cinnammon, hibiscus and rose hips - all brewed slowly to form an herbal tea, then mixed with Barry Callebaut cocoa and Valrhona chocolate. Topped with crushed rose hips to bring out some texture, resulting in a mildly spicy, herbal hot chocolate infusion. Served w a Raspberry Tea Cake. - 2

J's comment > not bad; frankly, tasted the same as the Adults Only above with slightly less chocolate cause this one didn't have two chocolate discs drowned in it; the vial of chili pepper etc. were OK, but when mixed into the chocolate was very faint; same comment for the raspberry tea cake as the matcha; A
vailable until Feb 14

Extra Comment
Pursuant to my previous visit on Oct 9, 2014, I still refuse to come back for the actual food portion of this miserable excuse of a restaurant until some changes to management, chefs and servers are made.
