#72 Roasted pork neck meat - 2+

J's comment > essentially charsiu, but w the best cut of the pork; the pork neck is inherently perfectly marbled and crisp; very well done

#41 Pan fried cake w red bean paste fillings - 2+

J's comment > lovely crisp shell w almost mochi-like red bean center although red bean flavor could be a touch stronger

#54 Peatip w bean curd skin & gingko nut - 2+

J's comment > very soft and tender bean curd skin, not tough at all; your basic chicken broth and pea tips though

#05 Steamed spareribs & pumpkin w black bean sauce - 2+

J's comment > very tender and flavorful, lots of meat and very few fatty chunks as is usually shown in this type of dish; loved the tender and soft pumpkin pieces too

#51 Crispy vegetarian goose - 2

J's comment > skin crisp, generous portion, but there was an underlying scent of bamboo that I wasn't fond of

#36 Baked durian pastries - 2

J's comment > flaky, w decent durian flavor, but Rainflower's is better

#46 Triple mushrooms in rice noodle wrap - 2

J's comment > soft rice roll w generous amt of mushrooms; your avg mushroom rice noodle wrap

#44 Dried pork & chinese donut in rice noodle wrap - 2

J's comment > same good rice noodle wrap w a much better chinese donut (fluffy but still a touch dense), better than last week's miserable excuse @ Flamingo

#40 Baked egg tarts - 2

J's comment > tart too thin, not as flaky as I would like; could also be warmer; egg custard a touch too firm

#71 Deep fried squid w spicy salt - 2

J's comment > good batter crisp on the squid but squid pieces too large and were slightly chewy as well

#30 Smoked salmon salad in crispy shell - 2

J's comment > your avg pieces of smoked salmon; kinda weird w the mayo fruit/tomatoes and the shrimp cracker shell; FYI this is a very typical Asian/Western fusion of dim sum

#11 Steamed BBQ pork buns - 2

J's comment > soft bun, passable BBQ pork in the center, but no match for the BBQ pork neck at the top

#02 Fresh shrimp dumplings (Har Gao) - 2

J's comment > passable Har Gao, but not the best

#03Pork dumplings w tobiko (Siu mai) - 2

J's comment > passable Siu Mai, but not the best

#09 Steamed shrimp dumplings w dried scallop & spinach - 2

J's comment > Har Gao w scallop & spinach, but there wasn't much spinach actually, so it was just Har Gao w some scallop

#20 Steamed bean curd skin rolls w seaweed & tofu - 2

J's comment > the seaweed just didn't work, it just made everything kinda fishy

Extra Comment
FYI, calling ahead for reservations means nothing. Your info gets jotted down, but your name only goes at the bottom of the list when you actually arrive, so what's the point of calling for resos?
