Chicken Karaage: Fried chicken w side of garlic mayo (large) - 2+

J's comment > insanely crisp skin and juicy chicken; very well done

Ebi Mayo: Prawn tempura w chili mayonnaise (large) - 2

J's comment > not bad; good fry on the tempura, crisp; firm and juicy prawn too; very good on all counts, but I'll still take the chicken over the prawn if I had to choose

Ton Toro: Sea salt grilled pork cheek w yuzu ponzu - 2

J's comment > not bad; crisp and juicy pork; good ratio of fat and lean portions; would have preferred  the slices just a touch thicker though

Mochi tofu bag oden - 2

J's comment > generous portion of mochi center, actually a bit too much mochi, would have liked more of the tofu skin to balance out the vast amt of mochi; Zakkushi wins

Agedashi Mozzarella cheese - 2

J's comment > exterior batter not as crisp as I would like since it got soggy in the jus; cheese could be meltier too

Unagi Nuku-sushi: Steamed sushi in a traditional steamer, topped w BBQ eel & sliced omelet, served w dried seaweed & sansho pepper - 2

J's comment > decent unagi, not smelly or fishy at all but would have liked more of the actual fish; woefully very little amt of fish to rice (which was also OK)

Beef gristle oden in miso broth - 2

J's comment > beef and gristle very tender; very good miso broth too, would have liked some rice to mix the broth/sauce in afterwards though

Sea bass carpaccio w salted lemon & onion - 2

J's comment > dressing OK, but the fish was a touch fishy for my liking

Taiyaki 'macaron' w red bean filling and green tea ice cream - 2+

J's comment > very good mochi texture on the taiyaki w good ratio of not-too-sweet red bean; green tea ice cream was OK, slightly bitter but that's the way I prefer it, went well w the red bean taiyaki

French toast & vanilla ice cream w kuromitsu syrup & kinako soy bean powder on top - 2

J's comment > french toast
fluffy but a touch dense; I'm a sucker for kinako and this didn't disappoint
