Peanut butter & milk chocolate bar w caramel popcorn, caramelized banana jam and popcorn gelato - 2
J's comment > not bad; strong notes of both peanut butter and chocolate, rich; didn't get the banana in the jam or the popcorn in the gelato though |
 |
Caramel coffee frozen parfait w espresso meringue, bourbon caramel, candy cap mushroom crème anglaise - 2
J's comment > not bad; strong coffee notes but not bitter; meringues well made, not too sugary; liked the difference in textures throughout (creamy w a bit of crunch at the bottom) |
 |
Dark chocolate cremeux w caramelia espuma, cocoa streusel, caramelia pearls, maple syrup, vanilla salt - 2
J's comment > very creamy, rich and heavy; kinda like a gourmet chocolate mousse/pudding; appreciated the streusel texture; didn't taste the maple syrup or vanilla salt at all though |
 |
Olive oil & lemon: Olive oil bavarois, madeleine sponge, elderflower syrup, dehydrated grapefruit - 2
J's comment > a mousse-like cake, soft but nothing extraordinary; didn't taste the elderflower syrup |
 |
Chestnut & mandarin tart w buttermilk and Tahitian vanilla bavarois, Satsuma mandarin jam, candied chestnuts - 2
J's comment > creamy chestnut; tart base was on the crisp side but could be flakier; I've never been a fan of chestnut desserts though |
 |
Matcha green tea opera w yuzu cremeux, coconut matcha mousse, candied citrus zest, coconut and pandan leaf sorbet - 2
J's comment > would have liked a lot more cake and a lot less, well, everything else; cake could also be softer, w a softer cream; hints of the yuzu and coconut, but not much |

Extra Comment
Overall, desserts were really one-dimensional and nothing spectacular. Plating was pretty, but underneath all that jazz, quite ordinary desserts. Made well, but nothing special.
