Crispy rice w mixed seafood - 3

J's comment > very crisp rice, perfectly deep fried so that each granule of rice peels off on its own w just the slightest nudge; soup was OK, but went very well w the crispy rice

Xiao long bao: Steamed buns w pork and soup - 3

J's comment > fav XLB of YVR! the perfect amt of meat and broth in a durable wrapper

Marinated bean curd w kalimeris - 2

J's comment > not bad; minced tofu and veggies were actually quite flavorful; a most intriguing dish...

Tofu & vegetable soup - 2

J's comment > avg soup, lots of tofu and veggies; cilantro not too strong thankfully

Braised fish in black vinegar sauce - 2

J's comment > fish OK, slightly overcooked, definitely not swimming-out-of-the-tank fresh though; black vinegar sauce not as strong as expected

Hangzhou beggar chicken - 2

J's comment > a lot of chicken visually, but didn't taste much of it; flavors were more of the lotus leaf and other ingredients than actual chicken; FYI, you need to pre-order this item

The chicken pre-breaking of the bread shell. It was HUGE! Check out the size compared to the teapot.

And after breaking open the shell, a more reasonable size of the lotus leaf wrapped chicken

Short vid & brief description of what's inside

Spare rib w wuxi style sauce - 2

J's comment > not your avg 'sweet & sour' pork, but nonetheless this was exactly that; spare ribs decent, not too dry, could have used more meat, but passable

Complimentary coconut pudding - 2

J's comment > texture OK, slightly on the firm side; decent amt of coconut flavor
